"We both grew up in Aiken, SC -- only a few streets away from one another. We went to the same middle school and high school. Having mutual friends, we often would spend time together in groups. While at Wofford College, we began spending more and more time together. There, our friendship blossomed into love."

How did you feel when you saw each other for the first time on the wedding day?
From Lauren
"I was so excited to see Michael and still remember walking, head down, to where he was standing with his back to me. When I grabbed his hand, I felt a variety of emotions -- nervousness for him to see me in my dress, excitement to "officially" start the day, and a sense of calm to be sharing in the day with him. I treasure the special moment we got to share, just the two of us. I am so grateful that a "first look" was suggested to us."
From Michael:
"I had so many positive emotions as I stood waiting to see Lauren at the "first look." I had not seen the dress until the moment she came and grabbed my hand. Earlier in the day I was rife with anticipation to have that memory of Lauren in her dress. After Lauren was there, our countdown cue began. 1..2..3, then there she was; stunning in her dress. She was so beautiful, beyond any expectations I could have placed on the moment. I felt truly blessed to be marrying this wonderful woman."
If you could do it all over again, would you change anything?
"We would not change anything about the day -- it was exactly how we had pictured it. All of our vendors went out of their way to make our day special. We were so happy with the end result after so many months of planning."
Do you have any advice to other brides & grooms?
"Take it all in -- the day goes by so quickly. Enjoy the celebration -- what a wonderful experience it is to have your most cherished friends and family in one place. Remember what the day is about -- not everything will go exactly as planned and that is okay. You are starting a new adventure with your best friend, and the best stories can be found in the imperfections."
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
"We spent the first part of the honeymoon relaxing on the beach at St. Simons Island, GA and finished the week strolling through Savannah, GA."
